Greetings Brothers and Sisters in Christ!
Time flies. And as usual it flies right by the date we want to get a newsletter out by. But God is good, and we give Him the glory for all the blessings he sends, that fill our lives – even with a shaky economy, when many of our members have job issues, whom we lift up daily - we stop to give Him thanks, knowing how blessed we are, and that He, ultimately, will meet every real need we each have. Just pray that He also shows what we really need, and what are just desires that might be a distraction. The benefit of tough times may be learning the real pleasures of this life: our families, our time with Him and in His Word. We pray that same blessing for you, knowing that He will meet all your needs as we focus on His priorities!
On a related note, we can think of several ways that plural families are a benefit during hard times: You probably have some thoughts on it too, share them here, in this thread: http://www.biblicalfamilies.org/forum2/viewforum.php?f=19
New Year’s Retreat was incredible!
I won’t try to describe our time together, but in case you missed it, have a look here at what some have posted on their experience at this retreat: http://www.biblicalfamilies.org/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=1150. 37 adults and 38 children gathered over the holiday weekend to set yet another record for our retreats. It was cold outside, but the fellowship could not have been warmer, and included preparing and sharing meals together all weekend. We prayed for many individuals and families, and made some great new friends. See just a few pictures here: http://picasaweb.google.com/nathan61/GeorgiaRetreatJan2010#. If this in any way peaks your interest, read on:
Next up: March 26th-28th, 2010: Mid-west retreat, Springfield, MO, area
We have our location reserved, and are looking forward to another big crowd. Note that we have moved up the road just a bit from Branson, but not too far to visit there before or after – we did this in order to be good stewards: our new location is cheaper for hotel rooms and meeting rooms. And it has a bigger airport close by (Springfield). We have many Mid-west members and we expect this retreat to be very well attended. Texans to Minnesotans, this is for you – it’s not that far of a drive, check it on the map! (Of course, everyone is welcome, if this weekend works for you.) We are looking forward to some special things at this retreat, including some more organized children's time. We will not be doing meals together for this retreat, but expect to return to meals in a campground setting for Tenn/NC in July. Details will be sent out on Springfield in just a few days, if you are interested in attending, write us now and let us know, and we’ll add you to the list: retreats@biblicalfamilies.org
Women’s Fellowship Chat
The women’s book study is ongoing, in the Women’s forum – and their Monday night 7:30 EST meeting time has turned in a on-line fellowship chat. If you would be interested and don’t know the details on the study or the chat, you can write the Women’s ministry at femina@biblicalfamilies.org.
(Guys would you be interested in a weekly online chat? If so drop us a line at men@biblicalfamilies.org, and let us know some times that would be good.)
Biblical Families Radio will hopefully return in a few weeks – watch the forums and our front page for a schedule.
God bless you and your family, let us know how we can be of service to you, we hope to see you at a retreat this year!,
