So, East Coasters! (Or anyone able and interested.) We will be meeting near Scranton, Pennsylvania, May 24th-26th. Those who want to stay on Monday (holiday) for extra fellowship, maybe hiking, are welcome.

I know this is a change, but we wanted to give a chance to some folks in the northeast to be close to the retreat location this time. We will be doing a hotel location this time (hot breakfast included). So will you make it?

If you need the details, drop an email to retreats@biblicalfamilies.org

We made our flight reservations today - staying til Monday afternoon. I just realized driving from Allentown (airport) to Scranton, we'll be driving right through the Poconos. I lived in eastern Pennsylvania for 9 years, and never made it there. Maybe Monday morning we can do some hiking down there!

We have a great group coming, it won't as big as last summer near Knoxville, (Memorial day a little tougher, plus we are further north, and have the big West coast retreat a month later), but I'm looking forward to the fellowship.

Praying for a great turnout, and believing for great fellowship! That is a great part of the state!

Blessings

I can you get you the bananas while I'm there, but I won't have my car, so I'll have to take a Taxi.

Bummed we won't make it but excited for all who can. I'll look around the forums for info about the one in Idaho, who knows, maybe a family trip would put us in that area. Will have to see. I booked up my summer schedule with another show. Doh!

we have reserved our rooms and are really looking forward to it.

from the number of responses on this thread, it is looking like a very exclusive group ;)

it was very much a blessing.

quite different in that all meals (other than the hotel supplied breakfast) were obtained by each individual family from the surrounding businesses. this made it possible for continual participation by the ladies who have been responsible for meals at many of the past retreats. while their service is much appreciated, I much more enjoy hanging with them. :)
I figured that we could solve most of the logistical and personal issues about meals by getting a pallet of MREs (meals ready to eat, military style), but so far the lack of support for the idea has been overwhelming. :D

it was great fun getting to know new friends and deepening relationships with old ones. much of the teaching being an expansion on what we have been hearing from the Lord.

these retreats are my highest priority and I continue to be pleased with my choice of making them a priority.

btw: I love having the spell check program back. if they can teach it to differentiate between whether and weather we will have it made. ;)

I say amen to that Brother Turner guy re: the retreat. Having Julie and Nita there for all the meetings was a special treat, and having a chance to interact with the kids was both a blessing and a blast.

Bob Platt's teaching was fresh and refreshing, new folks were there with new stories, Mark C's testimony was endearing, and it was worth the 900 mile drive, both ways!!

It was great to actually visit more than 5 mins at a time with you too Ali and Steve. I can get use to these hotel retreats! I so enjoyed meeting some new families and catching up with old ones. The kids were all awesome! Just wish our kids could have been there too. As always, I am so thankful for the families and individuals that God has put in my life.

the kids WERE awesome,
they even managed to keep some of the adults entertained! ;)

Steve, I can go for the MREs. Some of the new ones are pretty good.

I wish I could have been there for this retrteat; it sounds like it was a blast.

Still hoping for that international retreat sometime in 2013-2014, so stay tuned!

Blessings
