Hello! We have been a polygynous family since February 2009 and since I just found this site, I thought I would introduce us! My husband and I have been married for 8 years and I have known my sisterwife for 16 years. She and I have been best friends since I was 17 and she was 15. Our husband and I decided that we had been called to add a second wife to our family in 2007 and she was the first person we thought of, but she wasn't in a place in her life where that would have been possible. So we looked around and finally, in October 2008, I brought up the subject with her. She was very interested and we progressed from there. She has two daughters who are our goddaughters, and are now every bit as much our children as the three that we have and she feels the same about our kids. It wasn't all fun at first, as there was some jealousy on both of our parts, but we worked through it and now its like we have been a family forever. I guess that is our family in a nutshell. Hope to meet all of you at some point!

Greetings, Lindsay! I am so glad you found this site. I would love to hear about how you came to believe in polygyny in 2007. Congratualtions on your new family! God's plans are always much better than our own (if we can be patient enough for them :-) ) Hope you will enjoy getting to know us better.

Thank you all for the welcome! As for how we came to realize that polygyny was for us, it began with a special on TLC called, "My three wives". Before that I didn't even know that Christian Polygyny existed. After watching the show and then doing a LOT of research on the internet, I finally brought up the subject with my husband and then, after doing a LOT more research together, we decided that this was for us!
 
Thnks for sharing, Lindsey. It is always interesting to me how God puts this on others hearts. Who says you can't learn anything on TV! :-)
