Hello Newbe trying to find her feet

Hello all,

I am not sure if this is the place for me, I have not really been very religious in the past but I know what I want and I want to learn more so....here I am, 39 something and single, happy but unfulfilled with the way our culture is going.

Is it just me?

Hope to read more,

Bels

Hey, Isabella!!!

It's so good to have you here and I hope to get to know you better soon!

I am 33, married, and also unfulfilled with the way our culture is going. There aren't many of us here that are very "religious", but we all love our Creator and seek His truth. Hopefully we will be able to meet you someday at a retreat!

Thank you both very much.

Yup. welcome Isabella.

Good luck finding those feet. Or a husband -- who may just stumble all over himself and land thereat.

Hop right in, reading and writing. We're a pretty diverse but friendly bunch.

Likewise, Isabella - welcome.

And you're not at all wrong to be concerned about where our culture is going. Some of us, myself most definitely included, can confess to having been 'not religious' before starting to study for ourselves.

(Actually, I'd have said agnostic -- to the extent that I didn't believe that the Bible was really the Word of God. It was seeing the inerrant CONSISTENCY of His Word, including things like how ALL of His plan for marriage fit together, including patriarchy/polygyny, that helped convince me of what now seems so obvious. )

Sounds like you're on the right track, in more than one way. Blessings in your study!

Welcome Isabella!
Your are in a great place. This is a warm loving bunch.
God bless you in your desire to seek for more than what this culture can offer!

Hello Isabella,

Welcome to the forum. It does seem like culture is going in the wrong direction. What specifically has you concerned?

Isabella,
Did you look at the end of your legs. When I lose my feet, I generally find them hanging out with my ankles.

Glad you found us. Hope you have fun and learn lots.

Hello Isabella,

James and Lacey on this end. We have been away from the site for a couple weeks but wanted to say hello and welcome to the community, lol. This is a really good place to meet and get to know people with the same thoughts and concerns as you do. We have been blessed with several new friends since joining and don't regret it. Feel free to hit Lacey and me up anytime especially if we can help you in any way.

Thank you :)

Welcome to the forum. I just turned 39 myself a few months ago. That was a good year! LOL.

Hello

thank you for introducing yourself.

Which culture do you mean? And what do you find unfulfilling about it?

Hello to you both,

I mean the prevaling culture of western consumption, consumerism and selfishness. I quess I am an idealists who wants a world that is more community minded, with large expanded families, no old people left on their own to die and no children having to raise themselves because their parents have no choice but to work their fingers to the bone because society doesn't think of childcare as important but making more money for large corporations is (apologies to anyone who works for large corporations btw).

For all these reasons and many more,

Bels

Thank you for answering. :D

It sounds like you are on the right forum, because you value family life. Where parents and children can have healthy relations. I believe the idea of population control is highly related to these people being neglected. The idea of birth control is innately that we must reduce people born, in order to have more stuff. When this idea is based as a foundation, often people are considered less valuable than stuff, because the premise of birth control is often it is better that a person not exist so we can have more things. Poylgyny and or not using birth control on the other hand can potentially show that someone is willing to love more wives and children even if it means having less material goods. I am for polygyny because I feel it is the way I can love the most people and help restore society.

I like your answers a lot and I hope to get to know you more. :D
