Hello Y'all

Ok, so if you grinned at the y'all, you are familiar with southern lingo! :D
So I figured it was time to formally introduce myself. I have been observing silently for a while and last night I talked to my hubby about posting an official hello. (I wanted to run it by him first to make sure it didn’t sound silly lol!)
Anyway, I am Becky, 28, a wife, and mother of one. I currently live in south Mississippi while my hubby and I finish our PhDs in Communication. -trust me, that sounds more glamorous than it is.
I became interested in this website for two reasons. First, my hubby and I were in a polygamous relationship for three years. My sister-wife-to-be decided at that point that she couldnt be with us anymore. To make a long story short, it really tore us up. Therefore, I was looking for advice and hoping to reassure him and myself that other families deal with struggles too. We are not part of any group or church, although we are both ‘struggling’ Christians, and although most of our friends knew about our relationship, we didn’t have much support.
Secondly, I came to this site because alternative family structures is my area of study. It was a natural area for me to focus on because I have lived it (and hope to live it again) and because I am passionate about the right to live the polygamous lifestyle. I am completely fascinated by how other people deal with the good and bad of living a polygamous lifestyle.
So that is a brief introduction. I welcome questions, comments, ect. There seem to be a lot of friendly people on here and I look forward to meet you all!

Welcome, VA. Some of us can share your grief. "Friendship with the world is enmity with YHVH", and the 'world' really DOES hate the things that set His Word apart from those "traditions of men".

We look forward to hearing more from you.

Blessings,
Mark

Welcome, welcome, y'all! Communicate away! glad to have you here; sorry for your loss; hope the future turns brighter.

Yay!!! I love that you say "y'all" and are proud to use it! I'm from Texas so it's a regular part of my vocabulary. I can't not say it. If I can't live in TX, I'm glad to live in GA where it's common.

Welcome, and it's nice to meet you!

Thanks for the warm welcome (and passionate support of my using the word "y'all"!!) I look forward to getting to know people, and participating in the discussions! (the retreat sounds great, but this darn school thing dictates our every waking moment right now! We take comps in the fall, so maybe after then!)

Welcome to the forum. I actually try not to say Ya'll but it just far to inbred in me I think. LOL.
