Let's see where do I start...my head is still a spinnin'

As of about a couple days ago if you had asked me if Polygyny was Biblical, I probably would have told you you were crazy. I was convinced that it was strictly an Old Testament thing ('er except for those 1 Timothy 3:2, 12 et al. passages that I could never quite digest...).

A couple of days ago the Lord gave me a vision that is emblazoned in my head (more on that later) that I am convicted to mean that I will take headship over a large poly family. Um. Wow. The vision was not at all sexual in nature, in fact it felt more pure than anything I have experienced before, but the vision has persisted as clearly as a high resolution photo in my hand. After some prayerful research, I have confirmed the basis of the vision with scripture. I sort of spilled the beans about the vision to my wife during some intimate time (big mistake) and she was completely clueless to it all. After I peeled her off the ceiling, we talked about it and, while I don't think she is fully onboard, I can see that she trusts the validity of the vision and obediently honors my headship. Next steps...next steps...

I am a reformed Christian (TULIP, solas, etc.) and my family and I attend a small family-integrated church. I am 40 and a native to, and resident of, Washington state. I am a Navy veteran (7 years). I have a beautiful wife of 17 years (my H.S. sweety) and we have a great marriage. We have been blessed with 3 beautiful boys (+1 on the way). We homeschool and spend a great deal of time as a family playing games, going to organic farms, camping, oh and doing laundry (it never ends).

I am so happy to have found BFO and will support in any way I can. Nice to be here. This is both a new and wonderful place to be. The ways of God are good.

Welcome! I too find it amazing how frequently I am hearing of men and women being enlightened by the Holy Spirit to the biblical nature of polygyny. God is obviously at work...best wishes and prayers for you and yours...

Greetings! What an amazing story you have. I look forward to hearing more of what God is doing in your life. I hope you will encourage your wife, when she is ready, to become a member also and sign up for the Ladies Private forum. We have many great woman of God on this site and I know they would love to be a support to her.

With hope for the future,
Julieb

Hello and Welcome!
I am intrigued that you speak about having a vision. I made the mistake of telling others that I had a vision, and I was met with a very negative response. People telling me that I was crazy, or just smiling and nodding their head and pulling their children behind them (lost a few friends over that one). I am quite happy to hear that you had a vision too.
Again, welcome to the forum. Toni and I are happy to get to know you.

Greetings,

I am glad that God has brought you to the knowledge of the truth of polygyny. It is good that you have checked your vision with the Word of God, a very wise thing to do with everything in life. I am very pleased that you have found this site and been bold enough to introduce yourself to everyone. I am sure that you will find a supportive Biblically based family here. I will be praying for your wife as it is a really large mind leap for women that live in this cultural to come to the realization of the truth and goodness of polygyny. You and your family will be in my prayers.
I live in the Tacoma area with my family (One wife, one boy and another boy on the way, Dec.) and would love to get to know your family more. We have found that knowledge of this truth and especially the intent to practice has lead to some pretty severe ostracizing from our christian friends and family.
If you are interested in getting to know us better just send me a PM and we can exchange some contact information and if you have facebook we can become facebook friends; and then you could spend hours and hours looking at all the pictures my wife has posted there :).
Serving Him always,

P.S. We love Settlers of Catan, and a myriad of other board games.

And how does one peel one's wife off the ceiling after such a revelation? Some of us might like to learn that trick.

Just another WELCOME! from me, who is also fairly "new in town". I hope you
(and your wife, when she is ready) find the answers and fellowship here that I am beginning to experience. Please keep us posted on your revelations' progress.
Praying for you and your wife.

Julie

and a belated welcome.
sorry, i had lost sight of the start of the thread

if i could presume to give some advice:
do not look for the fullfilment of the vision or for the persons that will be involved with its fullfilment.
but rather, ask the Lord to show you how to become the best that you can be for your "clan".
if the vision is of Him (and i do not doubt that it is) it will come to pass in His timing and by His might. we are so prone to try to help bring it to pass (remember abraham and sarah).

This is some of the BEST advice. Thank you. Bless you. I will heed and honor your wisdom.

The LORD hath in his mercy and timing provided me with another part of what appears to be a multi-part unfolding vision. While wife #1 is still not accepting the poli vision, she is lovingly continuing to submit herself in many other ways and this gives me great hope and faith. Part #2 of the vision is that wife #1 and I will meet a woman that we both love and adore, the vision is that we will all become friends and that my wife (#1) will lovingly accept her as a sister-wife. Wife #1 and I have a strong marriage and I am humbly and patiently waiting on the LORD for the fulfillment of this vision.
