• Biblical Families is not a dating website. It is a forum to discuss issues relating to marriage and the Bible, and to offer guidance and support, not to find a wife. Click here for more information.

My name is Josh.

I am registered in both sisterwives.com (which I found online, and in part my wife and I loved watching its name sake years ago, series after series of Sister Wives, apart from their mormon faith, we liked everything else, except the part, where in one episode, they consulted a palm reader) and modernpolygamy.com (which I heard from biblicalfamilies that it has believers in it) - if you know of another one that is better or I should be in, let me know.

Let me state here that I am being very honest and vulnerable here, and so bear with me and keep this in confidence, that is, within biblical families.

My Messianic Jewish faith is a gentle heartbeat in my life—a Biblical spirituality that quietly guides me like a trusted compass. (My family and I am are far from legalistic, and I am very sorry if some people equate Messianic Judaism with legalism.)

I served as a leader for more than 20 years, in both the USA and Europe (and our congregation ended due to Covid). I have lived all over the English and German speaking world in Europe. I also speak German (but my wife of over years, and our children speak much better German and Hebrew than me).

I'm a man who values integrity, drawing wisdom from ancient Scriptures while striving to uphold the Marriage Covenant and Torah (biblical instruction) in my daily walk.

I cherish intentionality and open-hearted directness, believing relationships deepen through mutual curiosity and kindness.

I'd love to lead with thoughtful questions and respond to yours with genuine care.

Apart form filmmaking, I also enjoy writing songs (though I'm no singer!).

What would you like to know more about? I'm eager to connect with the right person. (Let me say here, that for friendship purposes, I am also looking for brothers in the Lord.)

About the right person with whom I want to connect?

Like my wife of over 20 years (we are currently separated, and she has given me her full blessings to find another wife; and yes, she fully understands the biblical concept of plural marriage and sister-wives, and yes, she is also the only woman I have ever consummated with, and she me only, as well).

My wife is a woman of profound faith, whose life beautifully mirrors reverence for the Lord—we share three wonderful children (12 to 19 years of age) (homeschooled, with experience in public and private schools too, and each of whom were trained by me for their Bat/Bar-Mitzvahs - and they are all also fluent Hebrew speakers).

Honest, compatible, and rooted in Scripture, our bond proves the truth of Proverbs 18:22: "He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favour from the Lord."

Through her, and through our children, I’ve grown so much—learning to communicate early and honestly instead of letting frustrations linger, to truly listen (especially when one of us feel unseen), and to own my weaknesses by actively working on them, not just saying sorry.

Both my wife and one of our children live with type 1 diabetes. I have done what I could to support them, though they have always shown strength and independence in managing their care—even before insulin pumps, which have since lightened the constant responsibility of deciding when to inject.

These lessons have made me deeply grateful for partnership built on grace and truth. Currently, while my wife finishes another academic degree in one continent, I am here in this continent, visiting and helping my much older relatives who are not well.

I know what it feels to be lonely or to be alone, as I was single for the first 35 years of my life. If you wish to simply talk or chat or message, without any strings attached, just message me.

What are my favorite way to spend time?

I love calm, meaningful moments: playing chess, quiet walks as a thinker, and treasuring good touch (like a massage—it’s one of my love languages!).

My beautiful and intelligent wife, a woman of valour, has taught me the joy of simple special times together—a café date or bringing flowers—plus our family’s warm Friday night dinners that grounded us all.

Currently, I work online, part-time, in IT (and also looking for a better job - and I covet your prayers for this), while pursuing my dream of filmmaking—creating inspiring good stories. I’ve studied filmmaking in England, and it’s a passion that lights me up. I am also making video AI via Runway at the moment.

Looking forward to hearing your story! 😊

Hello Josh, and welcome! I'm not yet a "real person" here, at biblical families (I think you must first go to a "Meet-up" first before you are termed "real person" but I am a member of about 2 years. I believe the next gathering is in Colorado and one in California for just women.
Based on your intro I think that you will find great conversation and meaningful exchanges with no problem, you sound rich in your dedication and knowledge of the OT. You obviously have a tremendous ability for articulating yourself! Here at biblical families there are men that you will find have that wonderful blessing too. Of course we women are here too, we do both post separately and together, of course. I pray that you will find a feeling of a home group here since finding a home church for polygynous families can be challenging yet we all here so appreciate a good sense of fellowship here at BF.
My husband, also has just one wife, we still have a long way to go in hoping, planning and spiritually preparing for that blessing. I also pray for that moving forward in your family's future. For now I'm sure that you are busy exploring, reading and learning to navigate the site.

Sincerely,
Brenna

Hi Josh, welcome to Biblical Families. I hope you enjoy the interactions here. Just a quick head's up, this is not a dating site and admin actively discourages posting personal information as profiles. Shalom and best wishes.

Hello Brenna, Thank you so much for your warm welcome. I truly appreciate your taking the time to read what I wrote.
Thank you also for letting me know about the next gathering. I've emailed retreats@biblicalfamilies.org to express my interest and mention that I need a ride, if there are any nearby, since I'm currently based in Southern CA helping care for two unwell relatives.
I've been receiving the newsletter here for many years via a different email as well.
Thank you for sharing that you're your husband's only wife thus far. I'd love any wisdom you might have about finding a spouse. I haven't read your posts yet, so if you or anyone here has written about this, please point me to it.
Yours, Josh

Nope! If you cannot find someone here in your part of the world, join the ladies chat video, and/or have your husband join the men's chat video. He can then vouch for you, since I am sure he has met you in person ;).

Welcome Josh! Have you found any local groups? We have a few here! Join us for the Men's Video on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month. If no one is on at 7PM Central/8PM Eastern. just hang out for while, and eventually, someone will straggle in. I have waited as long as 8:30 Central for someone to pop in. Set your alarm on your device/computer to jump in!
