I see you aren't familiar enough with situation. There are lesbians and gold-star lesbians who actually never had man. So obviously many lesbians aren't virgins.
 
I agree with others that it is fine for a wife to recommend another lady for the family but that it holds more weight if she is a wife that is fully in agreement regarding polygyny. The times where I have seen it not be a good idea is when the first wife has a personal agenda to control the potential second wife for her own selfish reasons. Know your wife, and if she is in good standing with you then she can certainly bring a helpful point of view for a potential offered.
 
Yes, my wives helped in the looking. With 3W, my 2W actually initiated the conversations. I started talking after they had built a friendship. Obviously, it had to be someone I was comfortable with, but they were very active in the process.
