Introducing Myself

I wonder if he would say that it would still be valid today in "times of war"?
Yes, the question would be; “At what ratio of male to female does it kick in?”
We must have some kind of a standard if it is for some times, but not for others. The person saying that it does not qualify for the present time must provide, from Scripture, the parameters.

It's almost certainly another excuse why polygyny is bad, special and can't be normalized.

Obviously it is very helpful in times of war, and no doubt more polygamy would occur then, but it has to be a normal part of the culture at a low background level in order for it to be culturally accepted enough to actually expand in times of war. That's why we didn't see it in the West following WW1 and WW2 - there was great need for it, but without it being "normal" already nobody would openly do it.

An interesting and common speculation. Alas I have not seen any scripture that said this.

He would answer yes.

I think that raises further problems, such as does it include all wars such as proxy wars? By default polygyny could now be justified as the UK is funding Ukraine.

He is at least halfway there, then. There seems to be always war, so you might as well support polygamy.

My roots are British and Spanish- both tolerant countries but not too used to polygyny or disciplined bible-centred lifestyles. I feel you will make it work, and I suggest you look outside any small church community for a sister wife- look for a lady who you can fall in love with, who wants to be good, and can work through the complexities of the lifestyle.

I’m James, married with one wife and two kids, living in Wales, UK.

I am an accounts associate who recently started trading.

Hobbies include reading, developing skills on platforms like skillshare, martial arts (working towards blackbelt number 2), retro gaming, working out, basketball and have been wanting to learn to surf for a while.

I value simplicity and interested in the digital nomad lifestyle as well as polygyny.

How did I accept polygyny?

Polygyny first cropped up in a morning bible study, run by my father in law, where a pro polygyny verse popped up in the Torah portion of the reading. Despite all efforts to dismiss this by the group, including myself, the nonconformist inside me was rather intrigued and started researching further. My wife passionately joined in the research, looking into what the scriptures taught. Despite my theological training stating otherwise, we eventually came to the viewpoint that polygyny was biblical. This raised further questions as to what do you do with that truth.

Hoping to…

Hoping to network with likeminded people and particularly anyone in the uk to understand the more practical side of polygyny.
Greetings and welcome from London UK
