Are you sure that is legal all over the USA? I ask because, as the joke says, "America is not one big country but 50 little ones" and state laws can be as different as different national laws within ASEAN or the EU.

I looked as well and the info I saw was those with minimum age 18 all had exceptions for various other ages with parental or in some cases judge's sign off. So it looks like the original statement was accurate from what I read, with some nuance.

For kids if others are home schooling, the Arthur Scott Bailey's Sleepy Time Tales series. As they are from the early 20th century, they use Loads of terms which entirely too many modern adults would not know. Good easy reads which hold kids attention as they are about the lives and interactions of a lot of various eildanthropomorphic animals who live on or near a farm.
