New Zealand is slipping into authoritarianism and this is just one more slip down that slope.

The problem here lies with the New Zealanders who won't stand up to their oppressors.
It’s a pretty weird way to handle an actual problem.
The rule should be something more like cars are only allowed to be at the curb for 7 minutes or less.

Just watched this movie last night. Really enjoyed it. There were some good lessons about God and Marriage. I especially appreciated the portrayal of the necessity for women to have a man. In a less "civilized" society it becomes undeniable.
I read the book more years ago than some of y’all have lived.
I totally loved the message, but the rest of her book descended into a theme of a spiritual woman and her non-spiritual husband.

But yes, the idea that a woman could marry someone out of necessity, that she didn’t love, and slowly fall deeply in love with him, was beautiful.

In New Zealand We are ever increasingly ruled by well meaning do gooders of the kindest type that are also a little short sighted. What was historically known as “stupid” people
Most of us just ignore the stupid people and their stupid rules.
My nine year old son was being a boy at school.
Flicking stones around at his mates and one hit a younger girl and it upset her
Nobody saw him do it, nobody knew it was him.
He saw the girl was upset , he put his hand up, owned it and apologised. Tried to make good.
The head teacher punished him for “a lack of integrity “. Sent him home with a red card.
I took the next opportunity to explain to him that “lack of integrity “was the most stupid thing I’d heard of.
He got a good lecture on many issues at the time..lol
We are at peak stupidity that continually over achieves
And I fear it’s not a NZ issue but a global phenomenon

The number of arrangements possible on a deck of cards is equal to 52!, which is approximately 80 unvigintillion, 658 vigintillion.

This was actually a vote against wokeism, a vote against the whole idea of male toxicity. Not to mention DEI specifically.

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century:

  • Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others;
  • Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected;
  • Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it;
  • Refusing to set aside trivial preferences;
  • Neglecting development and refinement of the mind;
  • Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do.

Steve used to like a cocktail called the "Old Fashioned".

I believe I improved on it and here is my version:

Four parts whiskey or bourbon
One part Amaretto
One part triple-sec
A splash of angostura bitters

Put it in a shaker (with or without ice) and shake. Then serve.

Maraschino cherry optional but encouraged. ;)

With all the acceptance of every hairstyle and head/body decoration, what is left for the truly insane?
