My oldest son was wanting to go into the nz navy recently , he liked the idea of cruising the pacific helping those in need etc and the free training. But they won’t allow anyone in that has not taken the fake vaccine that’s not a vaccine.
I’m quite glad he can’t get in as more and more we are seeing next level incompetence and stupidity not to mention the woke virus infection.
I’m a fan of old traditions like the captain going down with the ship, one way or the other it would normally be a career ending moment to lose a vessel in such circumstances .
In this case she (the captain) will probably be given a medal for bravery with a promotion:rolleyes: (we will see).
Strange times we are living in.

If Kiwiland has an actual naval tradition then they'll predictably balance this by promoting Capt. Ruggmuncher to Commodore and then put her in charge of a logistics command (warehouse) where hopefully she won't drive a truck onto the rocks.

It's getting worse. It's not just DEI policies.

Read thread on Twitter. Additional issues is more complex tech. Now chief engineering isn't enough to run ship. They have to call support on land.

Add HR. I thought army doesn't need this crap. Now if captain "press" chief engineering, he call his boss on land. So now is virtual meeting between HR cat lady, captain's boss, chief engineer's boss, captain and chief engineering.

Plus captains now have zero interest in tech. So they can't know if chief engineer is idiot or not. Anyway, even if chief engineer is idiot, he will can HR and captain can't do anything.

End result is that captain isn't responsible for anything. Why it would it? He can't even fire idiots.
